We appreciate you thinking of Good Samaritan when you donate your unwanted items. However, due to our limitations, there are some items we cannot take. Please see our list below. Feel free to contact the Good Samaritan Ministries Thrift Store if you have any questions.
A Note About Furniture: In general, if furniture is in poor condition, meaning it has ripped upholstery, is stained, soiled, wet, or missing vital parts, we will not sell it and cannot recycle it. Due to this, we are unable to accept it at all. Thank you for your understanding.
Not Accepted Donations List:
- Entertainment centers
Exception: solid wood only - Mattresses or box-springs
must be pre-approved, please call and ask for Ara - Metal desks
- Pianos or organs
- Used medical supplies (Not accepted: ankle braces, foot, and knee braces)
Exception: We will accept new medical supplies and shower chairs, raised toilet seats, wheelchairs, and walkers - Baby cribs – as per consumer report guidelines
- Car seats
- Console televisions or TVs more than 5 years old
Exception: We will accept fully functional TVs with built-in VHS or DVD players - Encyclopedias or outdated reference books
- Open paint, spray paint and/or other oil-based liquids that have been opened
- Window shades or blinds with cord pulls – consumer report guidelines
Exception: cordless only - Recorded videotapes
- Tattered, dirty carpeting or rugs
- Tires
- Hospital beds
- Waterbed mattresses and waterbed frames
- Damp or wet fabrics, linens, clothing
- Guns, ammunition, mace, gun powder
Exception: We will accept paint-ball guns - Hide-a-bed couches
Exception: in excellent condition - Any exercise equipment 8 years or older
